The mode of literature is a romance because the mild conflict in this movie was that Carl didn’t finish his promise. He had promised to his wife that he would bring their house by the huge waterfall and die peacefully at their house. After a mild conflict there comes a life symbolism. The life symbolism in this movie was that the old man (Carl) and the little boy (Russel) at the end lived happily ever after.
Carl totally changed his attitude around Russel when Russel told Carl that he never got to hang out with his dad. Carl then felt very bad for Russel because every boy needs like a dad influencing them, Carl decided to just hang out with Russel and make him feel better. Carl was then pretty much Russel’s dad influence.
A couple life symbols are that Carl’s wife passed away and he promised to her that he would bring their house on top of a waterfall. Another life symbol was when Carl and Russel lived happily ever after in they end. One more life symbolism was when Kevin (the huge bird) got to see her babies.
